Fall Teen Weekend
On November 6-8, 2009 Airfield held its annual Fall Teen Weekend. This year's theme was "Healthy Mind, Healthy Body." The purpose of the weekend was for teens to understand the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, reconnect with friends from all over the Southeast District, and to have fun! Participants had the opportunity to participate in several different fitness workshops: Zumba, Cardio Kickboxing, H.E.A.T (High Energy Athletic Training), Body Image Awareness, and Healthy Living.
Teen Board Retreat
On October 30-November 1, 2009 the Southeast District Teen Board held its first Annual Fall Teen Board Retreat. During the retreat, the teen board members had the opportunity to participate in different workshops. Over the course of the weekend, the teens had the chance to learn about officer training, parliamentary procedure, team building, as well as developing goals and objectives for the Southeast District Teen Board. Being a teen board member does not mean all work without play because on Saturday the teens took a trip to Busch Gardens to further develop a rapport with one another. The Teen Board will hold another Retreat in Spring 2010.
If you are between the ages of 14-18 and you are interested in joining the Southeast District Teen Board, please contact Christie Goodman to obtain further information.
