Extension agents are often the first individuals contacted by citizens when nuisance complaints and/or concerns about potential health and environmental problems arise during the land application of municipal wastewater sewage sludge (biosolids). The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is the primary state agency with responsibility for regulating biosolids use. The following is a list of VDH Environmental Health Managers, and their phone numbers, mailing addresses, and e-mail addresses. These individuals should be contacted whenever a biosolids land application problem is suspected or nuisance complaints are raised.
