Virginia Tech Livestock and Poultry Youth Weekend

Livestock Update, November 2000

The Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech is pleased to announce the fifth annual Virginia Tech Livestock and Poultry Youth Weekend. This educational program is designed to provide in-depth educational programming on topics related to the animal sciences. The program is designed for the student who is in at least 9th grade.

There will be considerable 'hands-on' work in a laboratory setting. Program sessions will be taught by qualified professionals and will involve work with high technological applications of science with animals. Cutting edge topics will dominate the schedule; but every topic will have direct application to animal production. There will also be topics to help participants see how they fit into the world of livestock production and animal science.
