3rd Annual 4-H/FFA Feeder Pig Sale
Livestock Update, February 2002

For the third year, Virginia Tech will sell feeder pigs to youth interested in showing pigs this spring. Most of the pigs were born in October, but eight litters were born in late November and early December (see table). The base price is $60.00/head for 40-60 lb pigs. They are pre-selected for buyers based on date of show and number of pigs needed. If possible, specific requests regarding gender and genetics are taken into account. All dams are out of a rotational crossbreeding system. The first breed listed is the sire. The second breed is the maternal grandsire. If only one breed is listed, both boars were of the same breed.
