5th Annual 4-H/FFA Feeder Pig Sale

Livestock Update, February 2004

Cindy Wood, Animal & Poultry Sciences, VA Tech

Virginia Tech is offering feeder pigs to youth interested in showing pigs this spring. The pigs were born between October 31 and November 29, 2003 (see table), with most farrowed the first week of November. The base price is $60.00 for 40-60 lb pigs. They are pre-sorted for buyers based on date of show and number of pigs needed. If possible, specific requests regarding gender and genetics are taken into account. Contact Cindy Wood (540-231-6936; piglady@vt.edu) for details. Pigs will be ready for pick up in February. Litters Available for Spring 2004 Shows
