State Fair of Virginia Youth Market Poultry Show: Results

We had an outstanding group of individuals whom showed both turkeys and broilers at this year’s Market Poultry Show in Richmond, Virginia. The contest was held on the first weekend (September 30, 2006) of the State Fair of Virginia. There were a total of 31 exhibitors ranging in age from 9 to 15 in attendance whom showed a total of 127 turkeys and broilers. The following are the award winners for this year’s program.

As a part of this educational program, exhibitors are also required to fill out record books regarding their experience raising broilers and turkeys for the Market Poultry Show. The record books are turned in at time of check in and are subsequently judged according to age.

Senior – Kelsey Powers, Virginia Beach
Congratulations to all the award winners. This event would not be successful without the help of Extension agents, volunteers and the poultry industry.
