Open House at Bull Test Station at Rapidan November 10

An Open House at the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association Culpeper Bull Test Station at Rapidan is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, November 10 from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. The 39 year old Culpeper Bull Test is being conduced at Glenmary Farm, owned by Bob & Tom Nixon. The farm is located about 10 miles south of Culpeper off Rt. 522 on state route 636 (River Road). Travel 8.5 miles south of Culpeper, cross the Rapidan River and take the first right which will be route 636 (River Road). Travel 1.5 miles and the bull test is conducted on the hill to the left.

This Sunday afternoon Open House will give friends, prospective buyers and others interested in top quality performance tested bulls an opportunity to see the facility, look at the bulls, study the performance and EPD data and visit. Coffee, soft drinks and other light refreshments will be served.

There will be 248 bulls on test at Glenmary Farm. 118 of these are senior bulls calved in the fall of 1995 (September 1 to December 15, 1995) which come off test November 26 and the top two-thirds of them will sell at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises on Saturday, December 14, at 12:00 noon. 130 junior bulls calved December 16, 1995, to March 31, 1996, are delivered November 5 to the test facility, go on test November 19, come off test the latter part of March and the top two-thirds will sell Friday, April 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises at Culpeper.
