Livestock Update, January 1998

Larry Lawrence, Animal and Poultry Sciences, Virginia Tech

The Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences
at Virginia Tech is pleased to announce:

Virginia Tech Livestock and Poultry Youth Weekend

Virginia Tech, Blacksburg
March 6 - 7, 1998

The Livestock and Poultry Youth Weekend is an educational program designed to provide in-depth, educational programming on topics related to animal sciences for students in grades 9 - 12.

Participants will be taught by Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences instructors and other members of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences - the same ones that teach college students majoring in Animal Science at Virginia Tech.

Students will have hands-on experience working with high technology application of science with animals in a laboratory setting. Cutting edge topics will dominate the schedule, with every topic having a direct application to animal production. There will also be topics to help participants learn how they fit into the world of livestock production and animal sciences.

Brochures, with registration forms, for this exciting, two-day event will be distributed in January. If you have any questions, please contact:
