Sheep Seedstock Double Header:

Exciting-futuristic topics, qualified speakers, producer panels, hands-on sessions have been programmed to provide breeder vision for creating competitive and profitable seedstock management plans for the 21st Century.
On Friday, April 16, beginning at 12:30 p.m. the U.S. Sheep Seedstock Alliance in cooperation with the American Dorper Sheep Breeders Society, Katahdin Hair Sheep International and St. Croix Sheep Breeders Association will sponsor a National Hair Sheep Symposium. Hair sheep breeds will be on exhibit. Results from studies and producer experiences will be reported/discussed.
The Eastern Regional Sheep Seedstock Workshop will initiate the USSSA Vision 21 Program Theme on Friday 16, at 7:30 p.m., and end at noon on Sunday, April 18. Twenty-first Century customer base, consumer preferred characteristics, genetic and reproductive technologies, EPD/AI/ET use, mating systems--outcrossing, inbreeding, linebreeding, balanced genetics, utilizing genetic diversity for breed improvement, biotechnology for breeding sheep, nutritional and disease management alternatives, elimination of scrapie topics will be presented along with discussion. This workshop has been scheduled in cooperation with the Maryland Sheep Breeders Association.
